Samaritans is a confidential helpline and outreach service that provides support to people experiencing distress, recovering from self-harm, or contemplating suicide. The service has 201 24-hour branches across the UK and Republic of Ireland.

Callers are provided with support and are even able to just have a quick chat about something on their mind. Trained advisors are available to talk for as long as needed, with the aim of helping callers overcome any difficult situation.

Samaritans also offers an outreach service, allowing callers to meet advisors face-to-face in hospitals, schools, or community centres.
